were where you?

Two devastating attacks has hit Norway. A bomb and a shooting-tragedy. Both have left us speechless and in sorrow and pain, both have brought forth a lot of compassion and care. We will get through this, we will be strong enough, we will keep fighting for democracy, openness, understanding and for whats good. But in all of this, where is God? My answer have all along been a short one; He is here. When tragedy, catastrophes and other terrible things happen, God is there. He wants to be our strength and helper in the midst of darkness and suffering, He wishes to bring light, peace, healing and comfort, He is here. For some in their hearts because they believe, others meet him through open arms and hearts, through people sharing the comfort, strength, care, grace and mercy they self receive. God is here. Last night I was thinking-praying-typing, and suddenly I had a piece called «were where you?» popping out of my fingers. This isn’t worked through, just what came at that time.

Were where you?

were where you God
when the sky turned black
from rising smoke after the bomb

were where you God
when the ground turned red
from bleeding wounds

were where you God
when our security was ripped away
and we faced so deep a fear

so many tears, so many screams
so many hearts crying out
were where you God?

numbness fills my soul
no more tears to cry
words are few and hard to speak

darkness falls around me
(there) in the silence I suddenly hear
a loving whisper coming through

I was there all along
and I’ll be there every minute
I am always here no matter what

I see and feel your pain
let me comfort you tonight
so you can comfort others

I see the hopelessness and pain
in the eyes and hearts of all
let me be the peace you bring

when tragedy strikes
and your world crashes down
I’m here to take you through

I’ll give you strength to carry on
I’ll heal your broken heart
I’ll always be where you are

when you don’t understand
when you can’t see the reasons
know that I am here, I’m always here

  1. I’ve received a lot of private mails, and I just want to thank everyone that is praying for Norway at this time. God bless each and every one of you.

  2. Hei Cecilie

        Takker deg for dine forbønner.
